Launch-X - Gain some screen real estate

Launch-X is a relatively new application on the Market right now. It's basically a multi-screened application launcher widget that you can customize a fair amount. The nice thing about it is that it allows you to place up to 5 icons (7 if you buy the paid version) in a 4x1 space on your home screen.
The app supports multiple "screens" within the widget as well. It doesn't support swiping to move to the next screen, however. I think this is understandable though, since swiping is generally how you move between home screens. Instead, embedded in the widget are two directional arrows that allow you to move from screen to screen.
The free version of the app only allows you to add up to eight items to a widget, but you can create multiple widgets if you desire. The full version is only $0.99 though, so you aren't parting with the rent money if you want to unlock all of the features.
In addition to adding apps, you can also insert specific people from your contacts in the widget as well. When you add a contact, you can choose what action you want performed (i.e. open the contact, call, compose a message, or choose each time) and the default phone number to use.
The only real negative feature I found in the app is that it seemed to react noticeably slowly at times when trying to move between screens. To be honest, I found that to be a little annoying at times. Other than that, I am questioning if it's really a good addition to my home screen. I may give the paid version a whirl, since it can squeeze up to 7 icons in the space of 4, but the flip side of that is I am notorious for fat-fingering, meaning I'm not sure my "clicks" would be accurate enough to hit the tiny icons.
Other than the noted slowness issue, I think it's a pretty clever app. If you're interested in taking it for a test-click, the link information for AppBrain is posted below, in addition to the QR code which can be used to download straight to your phone.
