Official Froyo Hitting Galaxy S Devices in Korea? [Rumor]

This is a little bit of a bizarre story.  According to website ReadWriteWeb.com, reports have been appearing on several Korean news websites stating that Froyo (Android 2.2) is about to be released directly from Samsung for the Galaxy S device.

The only details we have is that is will be released today at 8:00PM (no timezone was provided) and it will be available via www.samsungmobile.com.  However, searching around Samsung's website has left me empty handed when it comes to any more information.  Read Write Web has a link on their website to a page that supposedly contains the update, but when I tried the link, the page could not be found.

Normally, I sort of toss these sorts of rumors into a bag and wait to see what happens.  However, if this is true, it could mean the Froyo release for Galaxy phones in the US and other countries may not be far behind.
