Angry Birds Now Available on PS3

If you just can't get enough of the bird slinging, pig crushing madness, you can now enjoy your favorite Android game on your big screen at home.  Rovio, in conjunction with Chillingo, LTD, has officially released Angry Birds for play on the popular Playstation 3 home gaming console.  The cost is $3.99, but you won't be plagued with ads like on the Android version.  To find it, just head to the Playstation Store on your PS3 and then look under New Releases.

I took it for a spin over the past weekend, and all-in-all it's a faithful adaptation of the game you've come to know and love.  The controls are extraordinarily simple.  Just aim with the left stick and shoot with the X button.  The graphics are pretty good, although you can tell that they are just a resized version of the phone-based game. It still looks good, though.

The only drawback I found is that you can't zoom out.  When playing on my phone or tablet, I like to be able to see everything at once (bird launcher and target area).  Unfortunately, this isn't possible on the PS3.  Regardless, it's still a pretty fun time waster, so if you love the game, it's worth checking out.
