Sprint Galaxy Tab, Epic 4G, and Transform To Get Updates Tomorrow?
Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 12:57PM
According to a leaked document from Sprint, three Samsung devices will be getting updates tomorrow. Of course, if you're familiar with Sprint's attempts to update Samsung devices in the past, you're likely response is "yeah....right", and who could possibly blame you. After all, we're not talking about the best track record here.
Per the document (screen shot of it after the break), the updates will be as follows:
- The Samsung Galaxy Tab will be updated to EB28. The update will bring Sprint ID to the device, as well as the ability to check data usage. Unfortunately, there's no honeycomb in this update.
- The Epic 4G will be updated to EC05, a.k.a. Android 2.2.1, a.k.a. FROYO! As an added bonus, the Epic 4G will also be getting the Sprint ID service.
- The Transform will receive EB28 also, which adds Swype, upgrades the Sprint Zone to version 2.5, and provides various bug fixes to search, mobile hotspot, and Google Sync.
As usual, not everyone will get the updates immediately. Updates will be rolled out over a period of 4 days. If we happen to snag the updates, we'll post them up in our downloads section.
