Pulse is a... erm... semi-popular news reader that has been out for Android for a couple of months after original debuting on the iOS platform. We wrote up a review of Pulse previously, and we'll just say that we were less than impressed. However, Alphonso labs has made a number of improvements to the app since its release.
Although it still isn't my preferred news reader, it is a more worthy contender now, especially considering that the developer has now made the app free. According to Akshay Kothari, CEO of Alphonso Labs, they are now looking at alternative ways to monetize the product. Considering the current version only allows you to import a maximum of 20 feeds, I suspect a "pro" version, or some sort of subscription model, may be in the works that expands the app beyond current limitations.
If you'd like to take Pulse for a spin, you can download it via the links after the break.
